Zariah!

It's hard to believe that Zariah is already 5 years old. I know it's said all the time, but it really does seem like yesterday I held her in my arms for the first time. She has brought so much joy into my life and I am the most blessed person in the world to be able to call her mine. Everyday I learn from her, and am amazed be her spirit and her brilliance. Everyone that meets her knows she is a very special girl.
Here are a few things that Zariah has done this year: Before the year started she was already writing her name, Mom, Dad, Maleah, and Anoni, now she is reading most words and can write anything! She started preschool in September and her teachers say she is more like a teachers assistant than a student. She can write the names of all the kids in her class, and read some of the more simple books to her classmates. We are so proud of our Zariah!!

It was a great day a wonderful celebration of My baby's first year! We were so lucky to be able to have my mom, derk and Hillary's family, and so many of our friends there...we are lucky to have so many great people in our lives and greatful that they share in our happy moments!

About the same time Zariah was playing soccer....Anoni learned to walk, most of the time with a ball in her hands which made Kevan happy! I was a little nervous about having her walking all over the place (and getting bumps and bruises and so on) but she was actually a very coordinated beginner!

Grandma and Grandpa Great

The best thing about living in Pocatello is that we are only 2 hours away from Salt lake city, and my awesome grandparents! The girls have had so much fun going down to see "Grandma and Grandpa Great" and so have Kevan and I! We are so lucky to live close to them, especially since I have lived so far away from them for most of my life.

Grandma Great is about the only person that can get Maleah to snuggle her no matter what (Maleah is a bit of a momma's girl!). If she's hurt or sad or tired, Grandma Great is always ready to snuggle, and so is she!

Our Soccer Star

In the spring of this year we decided that it was time to introduce Zariah to the world of competitive sports...she was so cute playing soccer! She did a great job and we had a fun time watching her play
Sisters spectators! This is also where Anoni learned how to say "Riah" mostly because I was yelling at her every other play...who knew I would get so into 4 year old soccer games!!!

I can't believe that it's been 4 years already! Zariah has grown up way to fast! She is such a great child. She has brought so much laughter and happiness to us. She wins the heart of everyone that she meets and is the most caring, kind, loving 4 year old I have ever met. She is so smart, I can't go a day without being amazed by this girl!!

So I'm behind on updates (as always). I wish that I had posted sooner becuase my computer crashed and it had all of my photos and videos saved on it. Still, I do have some good photos to share, and maybe some good stories too!

These girlies just love the snow (but mostly just snowball fights!!)

Maleah was so great and quietly coloring in her room, I went in and saw that she was still coloring in her sleep!! She is so sweet!!

Anoni has been so much fun. I just looked at her pictures from when she was a newborn and just about cried. She has grown up so fast and is now crawling and in so independent. She has her front bottom teeth in, so that HUGE gummy smile is now a HUGE toothy smile. She laughs just about everyother minute, and always makes us smile. She is my little angel, and is always a reminder of love and happiness in our lives!

I know it's terrible that I haven't posted for so long...although it's no surprise to any of you at this point!! I wanted to write a little bit about what's been going on in our lives since we're always so out of touch.
Kevan is back in school and doing so well. He set a goal to get all straight A's this semester. will be honest and say that I thought that this goal was a bit unrealistic for him, but I have been supportive non the less. That being said, he has accomplised his goal thus far. I am so proud of him. He has become very important to the basketball team also. He puts in a few hours everyday in the basketball office, then 5 days a week has practice where he runs drills...yadaydayada..(ok that just basically means I really don't know all that he does). He enjoys it very much, and best of all, they are paying him so I enjoy it too!!
Zariah surprises us everyday with how big and smart she is getting. Everytime I take her anywhere I get comments of how brilliant she is! She has finally got some great friends that she loves to hang out with. I have been doing a preschool class(which basically just includes having a lot of fun teaching her) and she will be going to a private preschool for a couple days, and hopefully a dance class soon.
Maleah is growing up so fast! She started talking so late that she's just now learning to voice EVERYTHING!!! She is quite the talker! She is very smart and is learning alot from Zariah. She just recently filled up her first "potty chart" and is working toward being fully trained! She is very independent which frustrates me, but she is always ready to snuggle and give loves!
Anoni..oh, Anoni!!! She has just been an angel to us. Her sisters love her so much and help out with her more than I ever could imagine. She is such a great baby and so happy! She can roll over both ways, she sits while supporting herself with her arms, and she is scooting already. She LOVES the mirror!! Best of all, she just started copying what we do(rasberries are one thing I shouldn't have taught an already slobery baby!) She is just adorable, and we are so happy to have her in our lives, and can't wait to see what our lives bloom in to in the future.

Well...hopefully I didn't brag to much about my family...I just love them to death!! I feel like the luckiest person in the world! I know that heavenly father loves me very much, he has blessed my life so much.

St. Patrick's day!!

St. Patrick's day was so much fun today!! The girls had such a good time. They loved wearing green outfits, going for a nature walk to find all the green things that we could, and making green goodies. Zariah got really good at finding people that weren't wearing green, and both her and Maleah were very good at pinching those people!! Zariah decided that her friends, and mine, needed to have some green cupcakes, so we made green cupcakes with green frosting. Here are some photos of the girls fun!!

I took my eyes off them for a minute and Zariah told Maleah, "This is frosting Maya-mo, it's so yummy, and since it's green, it will taste even better...Try it!!"

Needless to say, they both had spoonfuls of frosting in their mouths by the time

I turned around!!

This could have been Maleah thanking Zariah for the frosting advice...but every other second Maleah was kissing or hugging her!! I love sisters!!!

So It's been such a long time since I've posted, and alot has changed since my last post. So much has happened...some good, some bad...and now we're looking at a brighter, more stable couple of months! That is, until our world is shocked by our new arrival!

We found out that we were expecting November 20th, we were not expecting this development, but we welcome it completely! We were thrilled to find out, and excited to spread the news, after my first doctors appointment. We found some problems with the pregnancy, and the doctor told us that there was a high chance of a miscarriage. We decided that it was better not to spread the happy news, when we didn't know what the future could hold. After 3-4 months of pain, and problems, we found out that the problems had ceased!! Now we can tell everyone that....WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY GIRL!!!!!!! We couldn't be happier!!!

Zariah is so happy, and she has already named the baby...actually a beautiful name that Kevan and I are shocked that she came up with, and we are concidering it at the moment!! We have awhile to think about this as I am only like....21 weeks or so!!!

Mother-like reflexes wont do for this girl, if I want her to live "dent free" I will have to have reflexes like Edward Cullen!!! Poor child is such a clutz! Just look at the picture, That forehead bruise is a week old, and gone down from the size of a golf ball, and you can't see her tooth that is split in half! The doctor/dentist is going to know us by name.... So thanks Kevan for passing on that gene!

Remembering Grandpa

In sixth grade I was asked to interview a family member and do a presentation of their life. I chose to present the life of my grandpa Dean. Then I overlooked just how amazing my Grandpa was. He was always so amazing, but I didn't pay attention to just how wonderful he was. As I grew I opened my eyes, and as I got to know more about his life I was amazed. Years ago I took Kevan to meet my grandparents. Kevan loved to meet Grandpa and hear his stories all about sports, and BYU. We played games, we always played games with grandpa. He loved to win! Kevan and Grandma beat Grandpa and me at Sequence. Grandpa just smiled and said, "I want a rematch!" What a character he was! Months ago I took the girls to meet their Great-grandparents. Zariah loved grandpa! He had to use a walker then, but he was lively as ever! Zariah would smile when he got up to walk and she would say with a giggle, "mama, what's grandpa doin'?" He made Zariah laugh, and of course me to. We played games, we always played games with grandpa! Grandpa won rummicube. We had such a good time, as always!
Weeks ago I heard grandpa wasn't doing so well, so Mom and I went to see him. I said, "How are you doing?"

he said, "not good."
I replied "well you look good!"
Quickly as can be he said, "no, I'm just good looking!"
He was good looking! He made Zariah laugh, and of course me to. We played games, I always played games with grandpa! I enjoyed sharing this time with my Grandpa. Later in that trip he asked who was kissing Zariah, we looked, and no one was there. He said that someone was kissing Zariah on the cheek. Zariah giggled, and wiped her cheek.
I know that someone was there, there for us, there for grandpa. Grandpa touched my heart throughout my life, and expecially the last time I got to see him. I'm so grateful I got to spend some time with my Grandpa, and I'm glad that my girls got to meet him to.
I will forever love and miss you grandpa. Thank you for the laughs, the smiles and love you gave to me. Thank you for the spirit and example you have been, and will always be. I am so thankful for the gospel and knowing that there are angels watching over us, and I know that you will be watching over us now, and I know that I will see you again someday.

Leo L. Dean passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2009, at the age of 88. He was born November 17, 1920, in American Fork, Utah, to Leonard Dean and Estella Jensen. Leo married Margie Lois Ferrin. They had three children and were later divorced. Leo married Magdalene Thornton Morrill, the mother of seven young children, March 27, 1965, in Farmington, Utah, and they had two sons.

Leo learned to work hard at a young age and loved any and every game that could be played. He enjoyed basketball, softball, golf and playing games with his children and grandchildren. Even when his heart was weak, he was always up for a game of cards or Sequence.

He loved music. Leo played the violin, drums, and loved to sing. In high school he was involved in the band, choirs and was a favorite in musicals in high school and college. He attended Brigham Young University and LDS Business College studying accounting. Leo served in the Navy in World War II, and in the United States Naval Reserves from 1944-1946. For much of his life he worked as a business manager in the furniture industry. When he "retired" he worked for the Boulevard in St. George. Leo and Magdalene enjoyed working at the LDS Temple in St. George, he also loved to travel, fish and eat at quality restaurants.

He is survived by his wife, Magdalene Thornton Morrill Dean of St. George, UT; children, Margie Dean (Vern) Firth of Taylorsville, UT, Keith Dean of La Mesa, CA, Magdalene "Mickie" Morrill (Richard) Olsen of Independence, MO, Ann Marie Morrill (Ralph) McAffee of Cedar City, UT, Genevieve Morrill (Scott) Atkin of Cedar City, UT, JoLynn Morrill (Steve) Black of New Harmony, UT, Jean Morrill (Scott) Stephens of Couer d'Alene, ID, Richard (Kathy) Morrill of Hilsborough, OR, Alan Dean of St. George, UT, and Brent (Brenda) Dean of Seattle, WA. Leo has 46 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sons, Ferrin Dean and David Grant Morrill.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, St. George, UT. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.

Tomorrow is Maleah's 1st birthday! Grandma Yost came for a visit and gave Maleah some early birthday presents. She loves them!

I just can't believe that my little girl is going to be 1 tomorrow. how quickly time flies! I remember feeling so frightened to be welcoming a second child into the world. I was filled with anxiety, not sure of how our lives would change, not confident in my competence as a mother of 2! I was so worried, but as soon as little Maleah came into this world, and into my arms I knew that everything would be alright because she belonged with us. My life has been so blessed, and I am so lucky to have not 1, but 2 wonderful daughters. Maleah has the sweetest smile that can brighten up a room, and the hearts of everyone. She loves to laugh and play. she cuddles up to anyone, and no one can resist her sweet spirit. I can't believe that I was so worried about life with 2 children, it's the most wonderful thing in the world!!!

What a long summer it's been! It's been interesting, some good, some bad. We are home now, and we are so excited to be here. It's amazing, for as long as We've lived in Pocatello we have talked about going home (Coeur d' Alene), but I feel that in our adventure this summer we have found a new place to call home. I love being in Pocatello. We also have the internet now, so I will be blogging more(if I can stand staying up after my kiddos are down!).
It was nice to see my family, but I learned this summer that the most comfortable place to call home is wherever my husband and kids are. I take comfort in them, and as much as I love my extended family, I wont feel lonely anymore because I have what is most important by my side.

It's been so long since I posted anything on here I may have forgotten how! Well, if I do remember I will have an overload of pics to put up! I will try to quickly summerize what's been going on in the Haynie family with a few photos thrown in! First the most recent.. We have all been sick for about 2 weeks now, and we're finally getting better! here is a photo of the girls this morningMaleah has 2 new teeth, and is sitting up on her own (although not for long periods) Zariah is such a proud sweet sister. There is nothing she loves more than loving on Maleah! Maleah loves nothing more than when Zariah leaves her alone!!! Ok, that's not completely true, Zariah makes her laugh all the time. Maleah has the sweetest laugh and smile, and Zariah is such a comedian, our home is full of smiles and laughter. Kevan and I have been blest so much. We feel that we are the luckiest people on this earth. Not only did God bring us together, but he gave us the most wonderful children, we couldn't ask for anything more.

This will be quick because I have a mad baby, and I'm sitting on the grass of the ISU campus. If you haven't already guessed we don't have internet at our house, and this is the first time I've been able to get online. Life is crazy, but we actually love it here. We have an awesome ward. I'm on the ward volleyball team, and kevan is on the b ball team. We just got callings as the ward family history specialists, so that should be fun! There is so much more to tell, but no time. I will hopefully get back soon to write more. The girls are getting bigger and more beautiful everyday.

So Grandma and Grandpa are remodeling, and Zariah really wanted to help paint. She made a giant mess, and loved that it was ok. She had a ton of fun and we just let her play in the swimming pool after to clean up.

So, I've been accused of not keeping up with my blog... what did I tell you, I'm not good at this sort of thing!! I guess I figured nothing can compare to the sleep bouncer!! I do have some wonderful news to report (despite Rebecca not believing me)....Zariah got a tan!!! Pretty Exciting I know!!
Zariah is also getting ready to be a big sister, and we think she'll do great!
We have exactly 3 weeks (or less) untill baby haynie (name undecided still) makes her debute.

As for blogging... I will have much more interesting and fun news in the weeks to come. I will also have some great pictures. For now we are headed to Grandma's house to play with cousins Abbey and Lauren.
